Storage Replication Adapter: 'Failed to sync data on replica devices' due to 'No SnapMirror relationships found ' error

Issue

When running ONTAP Tools (OTV) 9.13P2 Planned Migrations, the operation fails with the following error:

Note: This issue may also impact the Cleanup operation for Test Failover operations.

When reviewing the vvolvp.log log, the following event is seen after VMware Live Recovery / VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) issues a SyncOnce request to Storage Replication Adapter (SRA)

2025-08-21T20:37:21,059Z (DEBUG)[pool-3-thread-24] [] No SnapMirror relationships found 

Despite the "No SnapMirror relationships found" event, the following is true for the environment:

  • SnapMirror relationships for the target devices exist and are in a healthy state
  • SRA, during the failing SyncOnce operation, does not issue a snapmirror-update ZAPI call
  • A review of the Topology report via the OTV Control Panel (https://<OTV_IP>:9083) shows no SnapMirror relationships:
