Issue

  • When using OnCommand Insight Data Warehouse one might eventually encounter the following error(s): 

Failed to connect to reporting server, server might be down. Confirm reporting server availability and try again.

Failed to generate dwh and cognos backup.

  • These are generic errors that have a wide range of causes, and solutions.
  • These errors can also be found in the \SANscreen\log\dwh.log file, seen below.

2020-12-12 10:02:01,737 ERROR [Thread-3014 (ActiveMQ-client-global-threads)] BackupScheduleBean (BackupScheduleBean.java:72) - Failed to generate dwh and cognos backup.
com.netapp.sanscreen.dwh.upgrade.UpgradeException: Failed to connect to reporting server, server might be down. Confirm reporting server availability and try again.
Caused by: com.netapp.sanscreen.dwh.cognos.CognosClientException: Failed to connect to reporting server, server might be down. Confirm reporting server availability and try again.
