EMC ECS data source fails performance collections in OnCommand Insight or Cloud Insights, with error: "Request failed with status 500"

Issue

  • Performance collections on an EMC ECS data source in OCI or CI are failing with the following error:

Request failed with status 500

  • Review of the data source recording shows an error similar to the following in the sample log:

Caused by: com.onaro.sanscreen.acquisition.util.stream.http.JsonRestResponseException: Request failed with status 500 : https://{STORAGE_ADDRESS}:4443/flux/api/external/v2/query

  • Further review of the recording .dat file shows additional error context within the response payload:

{"error":"failed to compile query: validation failed: range 2h0m0s (start: 2022-03-08T17:41:11Z; stop: 2022-03-08T19:41:11Z) is longer than allowed 1 hour"}
