  • ONTAP 9

Issue

  • When looking the "Efficiency" tab for a cluster within the Active IQ Digital Advisor the "Enabled Efficiency" column doesn't show the correct efficiency for specifically SVM root volumes.
  • In the image below the volumes svm_blue_root, svm_red_root, svm_green_root all show "None" in the "Enabled Efficiency" when they should display "Deduplication".

  • When confirming on the ONTAP cluster side we can see that efficiency is enabled for the volume(s).
  • In the example below we can see that the two non-root volumes are "Enabled" but svm_blue_root is missing.

netapp01-01::> volume efficiency show -vserver blue_svm
Vserver    Volume           State     Status      Progress           Policy
---------- ---------------- --------- ----------- ------------------ ----------
blue_svm
blue_lun1 Enabled   Idle        Idle for 855:22:46 auto
blue_svm
blue_lun2 Enabled   Idle        Idle for 855:10:05 auto
2 entries were displayed.

  • This can be interpreted as a misleading scenario.
