Why node Available IOPS in AIQUM is lower than theoretical node performance value?
Applies to
- Acitive IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM)
- ONTAP 9
Answer
Available IOPS seen in Nodes in AIQUM appears lower than the theoretical node performance value for two reasons:- Available IOPS is calculated based on optimal IOPS, not maximum IOPS.
- Theoretical IOPS values assume ideal conditions, but actual workloads lower effective performance due to random I/O, mixed read/write operations, and varying I/O sizes.
