Why may AIQUM report qtree space events or not when quota is turned off and then on?
Applies to
- NetApp Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM)
- ONTAP 9
- One or more of the following AIQUM events have not been resolved:
Qtree Space Full
Qtree Space Nearly Full
Qtree Space Soft Limit Breached
Qtree Space Hard Limit Reached
Answer
The behavior depends on when AIQUM acquires qtree information:
- In the case that AIQUM acquires qtree information between when quota is turned off and when it becomes on actually:
- The State of qtree events becomes Obsolete once.
- They are raised as New events when AIQUM acquires qtree information after quota becomes on actually.
- In the case that AIQUM does NOT acquire qtree information between when quota is turned off and when it becomes on actually:
- New qtree events are not raised.
Additional Information
- Depending on data, it may take some time for quota to become on actually after running
volume quota on
- New qtree events are raised if quota is turned off and then turned on 15 minutes later because AIQUM acquires qtree information from cluster 15-minute intervals
