How does performance data gathering in Active IQ Unified Manager handle failures?
Applies to
Active IQ Unified Manager 9.x
Answer
- Performance gathering in AIQUM retrieves performance archives(CCMAs) from the cluster for given timeframes, and sequencing the data in the DB. These archives are named by timestamp.
- If a performance aquisition fails, it will try again later to get the archives that were missed, as the filenames/timestamps in question should be there once network connectivity or whichever transient issue is resolved.
- If there is an enduring gap in performance data, this is generally because the archive in question either was never generated by ONTAP, or was rolled off due to age by the time AIQUM regained communication with the cluster.
