Can third-party software be installed on the AIQUM OVA?
  • Modifications to the Unified Manager OVA File system is not supported by NetApp, unless the changes are being guided directly by a NetApp Technical resource*
    • *NetApp Technical Resource: “NetApp Technical resource” is a reference to a human resource such as: NetApp SE, NetApp Field Service personnel, Professional Services personnel, or NetApp Technical Support that is following instructions provided by NetApp Engineering Teams via EPS, BUG, PVR or FPVR
  • If direct control over the OS is required, the binary installation(Redhat or Windows) is recommended.

MySQL — Windows
Can the MySQL component be installed with AIQUM for Windows be upgraded independently?

Yes, the MySQL component can be independently upgraded as long as it is only a minor version upgrade (e.g. 8.0.28 to 8.0.43). 

Exceptions

  • Visit the software download page for your installed version of AIQUM and check the "Caution/MustRead" section above the End User License Agreement section.Any MySQL limitations for your current AIQUM version will be listed there.
  • Do not independently upgrade MySQL to a different major version (e.g. 8.0.x to 8.4.x)

Can MySQL be upgraded independently on the AIQUM OVA?
  • No, upgrading MySQL separately in an AIQUM OVA is not supported.
  • Entire AIQUM can be upgraded which as and when applicable upgrade the MySQL version as well

How should third-party software be upgraded on a RHEL AIQUM system that is not connected to an external network?

It is the same procedure as installing third party software on a system that is not connected to an external network.

  1. Download the required software to an internet-connected system
  2. Copy the .rpm files to the AIQUM system that needs to be upgraded
  3. Install third party software.

Note:

  • To download the artifacts and packages, use the yum install command.
  • Ensure that both systems are running the same operating system version and that the subscription license is for the appropriate Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS version.
