Applies to

  • NetApp ONTAP 9.16.1P10 and above
  • Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) 9.16 and above
  • AIQUM deployed on RHEL 8.x

Issue

  • EMS (Event Management System) messages generated on the ONTAP cluster are not being received by the Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) server. This results in missing alert notifications in AIQUM, even though the relevant firewall ports (TCP/9443 and UDP/514) are reported as open and cluster polling is successful.
  • AIQUM logs: No corresponding EMS/syslog events received.
  • Packet traces:
    • EMS/syslog packets observed leaving the ONTAP cluster on UDP/514.
    • No corresponding packets seen arriving at the AIQUM server on UDP/514 during the same timeframe.
