Cluster Monitoring Fails with “Failed in conversion” Alerts on AIQUM After Upgrade

  • ONTAP 9.16.1P13 and above

Issue

After upgrading Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) from 9.13 to 9.16, customers may observe repeated alerts similar to:

Trigger Condition - Monitoring failed for cluster <cluster_name>. Reason: Failed in conversion

These alerts are seen in the AIQUM UI and/or email notifications, and the cluster’s monitoring status may show as failed or degraded. The issue persists even after rediscovering the cluster or restarting AIQUM services.
