Applies to

  • Active IQ Unified Manager 9.18 (AIQUM)
  • ONTAP 9.18.1
  • Cluster added to AIQUM by IP address
  • Cloud Agent disabled (enable.cloudagent=false), acquisition uses ZAPI

Issue

  • AIQUM cannot monitor the cluster after an ONTAP upgrade.
  • The cluster can be edited in Cluster Setup and the host certificate is accepted, but discovery does not complete.
  • /var/log/ocie/au.log records a handshake failure on the first ZAPI call, system-get-version:
WARN  [common-pool-11423] c.o.s.a.d.n.t.z.ZAPIConnection (ZAPIConnection.java:619) - [netappfoundation] 10.1.2.3 - while executing ZAPIs on datasource: 10.1.2.3 IP: 10.1.2.3 for ZAPI: system-get-version, javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Connection has closed: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host terminated the handshake
java.io.EOFException: SSL peer shut down incorrectly
  • The stack trace shows the failure inside ClusterBuilder.validateTargetCluster, so acquisition stops before any inventory is collected.
  • Connectivity to the cluster management LIF on port 443 succeeds from the AIQUM shell, which rules out a network or firewall block.
