Applies to

  • NetApp Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM)
  • OpenText Network Node Manager i (NNMi)
  • SNMP Alert Integration between AIQUM and NNMi

Issue

  • AIQUM event notifications are sent, but NNMi does not translate received SNMP traps into events/alerts.
  • AIQUM test alerts sent to NNMi are not visible as events in NNMi.
  • Wireshark traces confirm that SNMP traps are sent from AIQUM and received by NNMi host.
  • NNMi logs show messages such as:
Failed to find IP address 127.0.0.1 in the database. Ignoring resolution of node and configuration item. This snmp trap will be dropped.
  • Trap OID mismatch observed between AIQUM and NNMi, e.g.:
Expected OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.5.1.0.14712
Observed OID in NNMi: .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.5.1.0.14712 or sometimes with extra or missing sub-identifiers.
  • Traps are processed correctly in other tools, and AIQUM logs no errors for SNMP delivery.
  • Example NNMi log excerpt:
Resolver processing: (Oid).1.3.6.1.4.1.789.5.1.0.14712
Failed to find IP address 127.0.0.1 in the database. Ignoring resolution of node and configuration item. This snmp trap will be dropped.
