 AIQUM 9.16P2 upgrade fails or server service fails to start with MySQL auth protocol error in server.log

Issue

  • After upgrading to AIQUM 9.16P2 (or performing a fresh install), the OCIE service fails to start
  • Browser shows HTTP 404 error when accessing the AIQUM GUI
  • mega-app.ear deployment fails during WildFly datasource initialization
  • The failure is intermittent — service restarts may occasionally succeed but are not reliably reproducible
  • server.log contains the following error:
Caused by: java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: Could not connect to address=(host=localhost)(port=3306)(type=master) : Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server. plugin type was = 'mysql_native_password'
