Will changing the physical location of a storage system cause any issues with the warranty or maintenance for the asset?

Answer

It is possible.  Take the following steps to avoid impact:

  1. Check the Support Services Terms to understand coverage for damage and relocation guidelines (section 2.5(b) and section 4.6)
  2. Customers should log in to the NetApp Support Site and find the moved system.
    • Update Address  Details, Disk Drive Preference, and Contact Details as required to reflect the change.
  3. Ensure insurance coverage.  Support Services Terms: 2.5(b) addresses damage from relocation.
  4. Confirm with the Account Team or SAM that there is no detected impact to current service levels as a result of the move.
