NetApp has a strict procedure for recycling disks which protects data from leakage using the NetApp Drive overwrite policy 

NetApp encourages end-users to overwrite data prior to returning product to NetApp.

Additional Information

Due to warranty restrictions, NetApp cannot accept degaussed drive returns or parts otherwise destroyed or disassembled prior to return.
