Answer

  • When a system is decommissioned, its serial number is flagged as decommissioned in the backend systems and automatically removed from display on the NSS.
  • This ensures the serial number is excluded from the list of supported systems.
  • Once decommissioned, the serial number cannot be used for future support cases or inquiries. This is a standard procedure to maintain the accuracy and relevance of the support site data.

Additional Information

  •  To reactivate a decommissioned serial number, create a non technical case.
  •  Once reactivated, the serial number can be registered again in NSS.
