Unless the authentication key is the MSID (Manufacturer Secure ID), the authentication key is maintained by a key manager. If a node with an SED (having a non-MSID authentication key) is unjoined from a cluster, the SED loses access to the authentication key. Without the authentication key, the SED remains locked and the SED data will be unavailable.
