SnapManager for Exchange is unable to connect to the DAG or individual server

Issue

When attempting to connect to the DAG or an individual server in SME, the following error message is displayed:
Unable to determine Exchange virtual server group status before SnapManager operation.
Do you want to continue?

The following error message is displayed in the SME Debug logs:

[PowerShell Cmdlet]: get-exchangeserver -status -identity SERVER_NAME 

[Remote PowerShell Cmdlet Error]:Connecting to remote server SERVER_NAME.domain_name.com failed with the following error message : The WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content type is absent or invalid.
