SMO Profile update fails with  SMO-13504: Verify operation failed. Errors: [null]

Issue

While trying to make a change to the Profile, the SnapManager operation errors out with the following messages in the "Profile Properties" Dialog:

SMO-13032: Cannot perform operation: Profile update. Root cause: SMO-13504: Verify operation failed. Errors: [null]
SMSAP-13032: Cannot perform operation: Profile update. Root cause: SMSAP-13504: Verify operation failed. Errors: [null]

The actual smo_of_<DATE>_<TIME>_<NUM>.log or smsap_of_<DATE>_<TIME>_<NUM>.log report file shows a more comprehensive message:

[DEBUG]: Looking up minimum oracle version:
oracle.version.windows.rdbms=9.1.99.99 9.2.99.99 10.1.99.99 10.2.0.0 11.1.0.0 11.2.0.0 12.1.0.0 12.2.0.1 18.0.0.0 18.3.0.0

[DEBUG]: Individual check failed - stacktrace:    java.lang.NullPointerException        at
     com.netapp.dlm.process.operation.EnvironmentCheck.checkMinimumVersion(EnvironmentCheck.java:379)
