Microsoft client authetication problems on a NetApp Storage Controller are as follows

  1. Connection to the storage system is successful, explorer opens up quickly presenting a listing of all the shares on the system.
  2. Connection to the storage system is successful, explorer opens slowly but eventually presents a listing of all the shares on the system.
  3. Connection to the storage system fails with an error message.
