Description

  • We are planning to do some maintenance work. How do I stop unnecessary cases from being created by AutoSupport messages that are triggered during this scheduled maintenance window?
  • How do I stop receiving e-mails or phone calls from NetApp technical support personnel during planned maintenance activity?
  • What are the best practices for suppressing unnecessary AutoSupport e-mail cases during maintenance windows?

An AutoSupport feature is available that prevents unnecessary cases from being created by AutoSupport messages during a scheduled maintenance window.

To make use of this case suppression feature, the storage administrator generates a manually invoked or 'user-triggered' AutoSupport with a specially formatted message text string MAINT=<x>h, where <x> is the duration of the maintenance window in units of hours.
