vSphere marks NetApp HCI compute nodes as "Incompatible," blocking upgrade to vSphere ESXi 7.x

Issue

  • When attempting to upgrade a NetApp HCI compute node to vSphere ESXi 7.x using vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM), the host is declared to be "Incompatible" by vLCM after checking for compliance against the upgrade baseline
  • The vSphere Client user interface returns:

Status: Incompatible
Details:
The upgrade has VIBs that are missing dependencies:
QLC_bootbank_scsi-qedil_1.0.11.0.0818.1600-1OEM.600.0.0.2494585
areca_bootbank_scsi-arcmsr_1.30.00.03-1OEM.550.0.0.1331820

Note: the specific list of vSphere Installation Bundles (VIBs) will vary in length and content
