Description

The Easy Scale function of the NetApp Deployment Engine (NDE) is the recommended method for adding a compute node to an ESX cluster in an HCI environment.

In some scenarios, however -- such as Easy Scale failing with an error or wanting to perform all steps without leaving ESX -- a non-NDE method may be useful.

This KB describes one such method: Using Host Profiles to configure and add the compute node.
