Answer

  • Altavault does not package files into blobs for uploading to Azure
  • Files are broken into fragments for de-duplication, unique fragments arestored in slabs of 2MB to 4MB
  • Slabs are replicated to Azure as blobs and duplicate data is not saved to slabs.

Because of de-dupe, compression, and encoding there is no directrelationship between archive files written to AVA and blobs written to the bucket.
