How to convert node-based PAYGO license to capacity-based license

Procedure

1. Pre-check

   • Verify there is no BYOL capacity based license package installed but only node-based PAYGO license existed:
     BlueXP Digital Wallet => Cloud Volumes ONTAP =>Capacity Based Licenses/Node Based Licenses

• Verify there is a marketplace subscription in the below page

  • BlueXP Digital Wallet => Cloud Volumes ONTAP =>Subscriptions

• Aslo check the marketplace subscription from the cloud provider ensure that the selected package on Step 4 is included
  • AWS: From AWS Portal=>AWS Marketplace =>Manage subscriptions -> check "Pricing and unit details" items have the selected package 
  • Azure:From Azure Portal=>SaaS =>click the subscription -> check "Billing term & price" items have the selected package 

Note: If the items of the subscription doesn't include the package (Professional/Essential/Optimized), need to subscribe a new marketplace subscription.

Example:

• Verify the CVO has been associated with NSS account from the below page
  BlueXP Help => Support => NSS Management

2. On the BlueXP Canvas page, double-click the CVO which need to convert the license

3. On the Overview tab, click the "Features" panel and then click the pencil icon next to "Charging method"

4. On the "Convert Node-based licenses to Capacity-based" page, select one of the below and click the check box then click "Proceed" button

Note: 

• The pricing and feature are different based Optimized/Essentials/Professional
• Check from pricing page of Cloud Volumes ONTAP =>Pay-As-You-Go
• The AWS is not available for Optimized at present , so do not select Optimized if it's in AWS.

5. The license converted message shows and also can be checked from Timeline

6. Verify the post conversion 

• The Node-based PAYGO license has been removed automatically

• The "Charging Method"changed from Node-based to Capacity-based
