Answer

  • The CVO's deployed with ONTAP versions prior to 9.7 have an old layout where a single boot disk is shared by root, boot, and NVRAM.
  • However, starting from ONTAP 9.7, CVOs are deployed with a separate disk for VNVRAM, which offers improved write performance.
