CVO node was not given back to automatically after Azure freeze maintenance event

Issue

  • Microsoft confirms that the Azure maintenance has completed on the VM.
  • Serial console of the VM shows, the node booted to waiting for giveback state.
  • If the freeze maintenance is initiated by Azure on HA partner, it results in a production outage.
  • The following AutoSupport (ASUP) notification is not sent even after more than 1 hour since the start of the maintenance:
