Azure cluster is down and when booted from the console shuts down again

Issue

  • Azure single node instance went offline after backend upgrades issued by Azure and the node never recovered. 
  • Azure HA cluster goes offline after backend disk issues
  • From Azure side logs the customer may see the following alert:

Unavailable (Unplanned) : Remote disk disconnected (Unplanned)


At <Date> at X AM EDT, the Azure monitoring system received the following information regarding your Virtual machine:

The Virtual Machine is currently stopped due to a temporary loss of access to disk. No other action is required at this time, while the platform is working on reestablishing disk connectivity.
