Applies to

  • Cloud Volumes ONTAP
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Answer

  • Yes, as long as the Cloud Volume ONTAP is deleted using BlueXP and only if there are no objects in the bucket.
    • Otherwise, the bucket will be left in an orphaned state and can only be deleted once the objects are moved out of aforementioned bucket.
  • This is by design.
    • In the event that the Cloud Volume ONTAP Working Environment is decommissioned, but has an object-storage bucket attached that still has objects contained inside it will not be deleted to prevent any unintended data loss.
