Why do '.~tmp' exist on target and not source after a BlueXP Copy & Sync?

Answer

  • The source is live.
  • Many programs use .~tmp files when a file is open for editing.
  • Copy & Sync will copy these to the destination in some scenarios.
  • When the source closes the file the .~tmp disappears on the source, making it appear that these are extra files on the target.
