Issue

  • When attempting to add, discover, or register a Hyper-V host in NetApp Cloud Manager SaaS (Backup and Recovery for VMs), the operation fails with a generic “Pre-Validation Failed” error. No additional details are provided in the UI.
  • Relevant log output (from CLOUDMANAGER-HYPERVISORCONTROL.LOG):
    2026-03-19 12:37:07.103+00:00 [Error][ThreadId:1450][CorrelationId:] Pre-Validation failed for host: 10.1.120.102 with error: Validation 'Member of Logon as service policy' failed with status 'invalid': User does NOT have Log on as a service rights.
