NetApp console fails to load volumes with 401 Unauthorized authentication error

Issue

  • After discovering an on-premises ONTAP storage system (FAS2720) in NetApp Console, volume information remains in a loading state and does not display.
  • Backup and Recovery configuration cannot proceed due to missing volume data.
  • Audit logs on the ONTAP system show authentication failures from the agent:

    Login Attempt :: Error: Authentication failed.

  • HAR file analysis reveals 401 Unauthorized errors when retrieving volume information: 
    GET https://api.bluexp.netapp.com/ontap-service/accounts/<account-id>/ontaps/<working-environment-id>/proxy/api/storage/volumes
