Description

BlueXP connector SM1 to SM2 In-place Migration tool does the below :

Total time to migrate: ~ 30 Minutes ​

  1. Pre-checks ​

  • Ensures that the systems meets the prerequisites required for migration​

  • Health checks for SM1 - Status of SM1 service and the Docker containers ​

  • System-level checks - Disk space, RAM, and CPU ​

  • SM2 checks - Checks for ports and URLS required for migration. ​

  • Connector OS checks—Checks the Docker, OS, Docker Compose, and Docker Compose plugin versions.​

  1. Backup​

  • Backs up the existing SM1 Configuration​

  1. Migration ​

  • SM1 to SM2 migration including configs, directories & platform features - proxy, certs​

  • Brings up SM2 and the new containers​

  1. Post-migration checks ​

  • Ensures SM2 and associated containers have come up​

  1. Roll back ​

  • Ability to roll back to the SM1 working state in case of failure
