Answer

When deploying the BlueXP connector through the Azure Marketplace, there are three types of BlueXP connector solutions available for selection as of October 17, 2024.
  • NetApp BlueXP [SaaS]
  • NetApp BlueXP(Annual)[SaaS]
  • NetApp Connector VM[Virtual Machine]
The differentiation of each BlueXP connector type:
  • NetApp BlueXP [SaaS]

This is the standard option for BlueXP, providing full functionality through the SaaS layer. The Connector is managed via a web-based console.

  • NetApp BlueXP (Annual)[SaaS]

Similar to the standard NetApp BlueXP, but it comes with an annual subscription model, providing the same SaaS-based full functionality.

  • NetApp Connector VM

This option involves deploying the Connector as a virtual machine in your cloud environment (Azure, AWS, etc.) or on-premises. This mode can be used in restricted or private modes which limit or eliminate outbound connectivity to the BlueXP SaaS layer.
