Unable to perform a giveback after an Azure Maintenance Event leaving Azure CVO in a non-HA state

Issue

  • During giveback, the below message may be observed:

cvoazure::> storage failover show-giveback
Aggregates Giveback State: Disk inventory not exchanged, automatic giveback deferred

  • When attempting to reboot and redeploy node that is in giveback, the node is stuck on the below message when opening the Azure serial console:

Waiting for reservations to clear
Node is undergoing maintenance activities. Partner will release reservations after maintenance activities completed
