  • HA Pairs
  • Microsoft Azure

Answer

  • Yes.
  • Availability Set is a logical grouping of the Cloud Volumes ONTAP nodes. It ensures that the nodes are in different fault and update domains to provide redundancy and availability.
  • Multiple Availability Zone is a physical separation of the Cloud Volumes ONTAP nodes.  Availability zones ensure that the nodes are in different fault domains.
  • Communication is faster in an Availability Set but reliability is higher in Multiple Availability Zone setup.
