Is there a way to automatically monitor and notify the connection status between Cloud Volumes ONTAP and Cloud Manager?
Applies to
- Cloud Manager
- NetApp BlueXP Connector
- Cloud Volumes ONTAP
Answer
- If Cloud Volumes ONTAP deployed with Pay-as-you-go loses communication with Cloud Manager, Cloud Volumes ONTAP logs will show that license is going to expire, and there is a fourteen day grace period.
- The following EMS events can be used to monitor and notify:
Message Name: license.subscription.reminder
Severity: NOTICE
Description: This message occurs when your Cloud ONTAP(R) license subscription is going to expire soon.
Corrective Action: Contact your sales representative to renew your subscription as soon as possible.
SNMP Trap Type: Severity-based
Is Deprecated: false
Message Name: license.subscription.warning
Severity: ALERT
Description: This message occurs when your Cloud ONTAP(R) license subscription is nearly expired.
Corrective Action: Contact your sales representative to renew your subscription immediately, to avoid any disruption.
SNMP Trap Type: Severity-based
Is Deprecated: false
Message Name: license.subscription.enforcement
Severity: EMERGENCY
Description: This message occurs when your Cloud ONTAP(R) license subscription has expired but may still be renewed.
Corrective Action: Contact your sales representative to have your subscription reactivated.
SNMP Trap Type: Severity-based
Is Deprecated: false
Additional Information
- Cloud Volumes ONTAP systems will shut down after losing communication with Cloud Manager for longer than 14 days.
- This behavior is only relevant to Pay-as-you-go but not for BYOL(Bring your own license).
