Is it possible to implement graceful takeover during Freeze events in GCP like in Azure?

Answer

  • The notice window is too short in GCP. In GCP, VM receives notice only about 30 seconds before the reboot.
  • In Azure, VM receives notice 24 hours before the scheduled migration and ONTAP has plenty of time to initiate the takeover.
