FlexGroup or MDV_aud volumes cause aggregate to go offline

Issue

  • BlueXP Auto capacity management tries to delete Aggregate which has volumes even though there is data present on it, which causes the aggregate to go offline
  • On checking the timeline, we see that since Automatic capacity management is enabled, it is trying to delete the empty aggregate. But as a part of the process, it first offlines the aggregate but doesn't make it online again when the delete activity fails with the below error:

"Operation Delete Aggregate failed with error Cannot delete an aggregate that has volumes. Delete or move the volumes, and then try the operation again. "

  •  The aggregate  has one FlexVol-constituent/ Audit MDV volume.
  • From the SK_traces, we can see that the FlexVol-constituent is getting unmounted and at the same time the aggregate is going offline:
