Azure CVO Instance will not boot due to error "serial number mismatch" after changing the Node serial number

Issue
Node serial number changed using OCCM API method.
Using the Azure Serial Console you observe the following ERROR when the node is booted
ERROR: Invalid Data ONTAP-v configuration environment: Serial number mismatch.
ERROR: Data ONTAP startup failed - initiating shutdown.
