DII collections for Dell EMC VMAX, PowerMax, or other Solutions Enabler-based data collector return error during collection, "Failed to execute Sym CLI symcfg, because The remote client/server handshake failed. Please consult symapi and storsrvd log files"

Issue

  • When collecting from Solutions Enabler-based collectors in DII, an error is encountered and visible on the data collector landing page:
    Failed to execute Sym CLI symcfg, because The remote client/server handshake failed. Please consult symapi and storsrvd log files
  • Reviewing the storsrvd log file on the SE server reveals another error:
    error 700004010: [PDS/Sock] accept() failed [SSL Error: 0x14094415 - error:14094415:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert certificate expired]; from srvSecureModeSetup, line 958: SSL_accept() failed: [SSL Error: 0x14094415 - error:14094415:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert certificate expired]
