How to delete *_netapp temporary files leftover by cloud sync failed copy

Description

  • Cloud sync when copying files from source to target will create temporary *_netapp file.
  • Once the copy is complete , it will rename the temporary *_netapp file to the original file name.
  • Under certain cicumstances , If the copy of the file fails in middle due to errors like EIO etc. , it will result in this temporary file not deleted by cloud sync and will occupy space on the target volume/share.
  • This article provides steps to clean them up from the target share/volume using SMB.
