Applies to

  • NetApp ONTAP 9.15.1P11 (AFF-A70)
  • Kubernetes/OpenShift environments using Trident with AppMirrorRelationship (AMR)
  • Trident ontap-san backend configurations
  • Application replication or DR workflows using TridentProtect

Issue

Attempts to create or validate AppMirrorRelationship (AMR) for a storage class fail with the following error (as seen in TridentProtect logs and AMR status):

storageclass "sc-name" is not supported for AppMirrorRelationship: protocol "nfs" is not supported for ontap-san SnapMirror, must be one of: iscsi, nvme, fcp.
  • Existing AMRs continue SnapMirror transfers but fail StorageClass validation.
  • New AMRs remain blocked in “Establishing” state.
