Applies to

  • NetApp Astra Trident
  • NetApp ONTAP 9.X
  • RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.X

Issue

  • The StorageClass has been set the ReclaimPolicy to Retain  in the OCP cluster
  • When a PVC is deleted, the bound PV is deleted as well, but the Trident volume and the ontap or qtree remain in the ontap cluster
  • Customer would like to have an expiration time in Trident, that would automatically clean the trident volume and the the volume or qtree in the ontap cluster
