Can Astra Trident import volumes using the operator instead of tridentctl?

Answer

  • No - Astra Trident can only import volumes using tridentctl, which is the only method to import volumes, regardless of how Trident was originally installed
  • There is NO operator command  available to import volumes
  • The tridentctl command is included in the binaries of the Trident package that is downloaded and un-tarred to the k8s node

Note:
You can verify tridentctl is available using a test command, such as a request for version number:  tridentctl version -n trident
