ACC doesn't provide a method to setup e-mail notifications for failed backups

Issue
In the current implementation, a backup admin needs to use the ACC console to get notifications about regular scheduled backups, to check if they fail.
There is no notification via e-mail to warn about failed backups or failed snapshots.
Since the LDAP implementation already required e-mail addresses on the users, this seems to be an oversight.
