StorageGRID Primary Admin node runs out of space during upgrade

Issue

  • Primary admin node runs out of free space on /var/local/audit/export folder during upgrade.
  • The node becomes unresponsive, and login through SSH or console is not possible. Node reboot is the only option available.
  • After reboot node is accessible again and space free space freed up in /var/local/audit/export folder by deleting some unneeded audit log files.
  • Despite having sufficient free space available the upgrade still fails to complete with following error:
Failed to run upgrade after-reboot script. Boot process halted
