  • NetApp H700E compute node
  • VMware ESXi 6.5 and ESXi 6.7 Build 17700523 (2x ESXi hosts upgraded)
  • SolidFire volumes mounted to VMs directly
  • Mellanox NIC firmware and driver pairs:
    • 14.25.1020 & 4.17.15.16
    • 14.29.1016 & 4.17.71.1

Issue

  • Element iSCSI session socket error count alerts after upgrade to ESXi 6.7
  • Windows and Linux VMs are not able to ping SVIP with Jumbo frames when running on 6.7 host
  • Same VMs can ping SVIP with Jumbo frames when moved (vMotion) back to ESXi 6.5 hosts
