Element cluster event: Number of virtual volumes is approaching or has exceeded the maximum recommended limit

Issue

When running a vvol environment with a large number of VMs, you may see the following in Cluster Events:

Type: limitEvent

Message: Number of virtual volumes is approaching or has exceeded the maximum recommended limit.

Details: 

  • virtualVolumesCount: The number of existing vvols in the cluster.
  • virtualVolumesClusterLimit: The maximum recommended number of vvols in the cluster.
