Non-MetroCluster Environments

When a disk drive is replaced and assigned to a node in an ADP configuration the disk will remain as a whole disk (unpartitioned) until one of the following operations happens:

If the auto-partitioning fails with a timeout message during any of the above operations, Data ONTAP will automatically attempt to partition the same or another similar drive when available.
